Our Story

In 1998, we just bought a baby grand piano from a friend who was moving away and needed to move. We were shocked at how there were hardly any professional movers specifically trained in moving pianos. I’m not saying that these movers can’t move pianos, they can but will they really know the intricacies of a piano? The only reason why I knew was because my father was a professor of performance piano.

My Father the Godfather of Pianos

Maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration but my dad was a professor of piano performance at Oberlin Conservatory. He always looked for movers who specialized in moving pianos. He knew of only one small business who was able to the job well especially pianos that cost around over 30K.

After retiring from being a professor from Oberlin, he and I decided to open up Piano Movers HQ back in 2000 to find the best piano movers all over the country The reason being is that there really is a special technique to moving pianos that only comes from experience. We have worked with every type of piano and know the right questions to ask to finding the absolute best piano movers through our screening process.
